Larry McCarren’s Locker Room
Both yesterday and today were nothing days. We all needed some time to relax a little and catch up on some rest.
For some reason the boys sleeping patterns have changed dramatically since daylight savings finished and the dark hits that hour earlier. Who would have guessed that one hour would make such big a difference? Luc now rises at 430 without fail and Ben is up before 6.
We hung out at home and literally took naps, between building blocks, whenever we could. This rising before the sun business gets tough after a while. I actually think it would be easier if we had to go to work ‘cause at least then there’s a purpose for being up so early.
Staying true to the list of things I’d like to do whilst here in Green Bay, Kelly and I went out tonight to see the live filming of “Larry McCarren’s Locker Room”. It was held on level 4 of the Lambeau Field Atrium and we had a really great time.
The filming of live shows here is a whole lot different to those back at home. At home they are so regimented. You need to arrive hours earlier than the start time, line up and follow orders until you are in, seated and ready for the warm up guy.
Having experienced both “Inside the Huddle” with Donald Driver and now this one, “Larry McCarrens Locker Room” I can say that it’s so much nicer here. We arrived this evening at 615 for a show that starts at 630. We picked up a drink on the way in, found a couple of seats and waited for the warm up guy. I was pleasantly surprised to see that Larry himself was talking to the crowd before the show. Telling jokes, sharing stories and making the kids in the crowd feel especially welcome.
A.J.Hawk was in the guest seat this evening and we (I) had a really great time. The atmosphere was warm, the show was entertaining and best of all it was free. What more could you ask? Kelly and I had dinner at Curly’s, got to talking to a few of the other people there and really enjoyed the night.
If you haven’t been to Larry’s show yet you really should. It’s a great night out and it’s all about the Packers.
