The Clean Up Begins

Doesn’t time fly by when you don’t get the chance to sit back and watch it? We’ve been so busy these last 2 days that I can’t believe we’re at the end of the week already. The football season seems so long ago.

I’m combining the entries for yesterday and today because, for the most part, we haven’t done anything of great excitement. That doesn’t mean we haven’t been flat out, it just means that sorting our apartment out, confirming flights, boxing up our unwanted items for charity and cleaning up after Luc helps himself to the pantry isn’t worth repeating over two days of text.

For most of yesterday and today, despite the above chores, I have continued to work on our story for ESPN. Whilst still unsure as to when it will air I do know that alot of it will feature the camera work of yours truly, taken straight from the files that I have collected over the last 22 or so weeks. The images, the video and the feelings that make this trip “the once in a lifetime” journey that it is, will be in full effect once it does finally hit the box.

I have worked quite closely with the producer and to be honest, it is the one piece I look most forward to seeing. (If you’re reading this on Saturday morning Drew let me tell you – the pressure’s on!)

We took a break from all things computers and packing to spend some time with our friends Amy and Jamie from Appleton. Usually we head down there ‘cause they’ve got the big house, the great basement and a ton of toys to keep our 5 boys entertained well into the night. Tonight though, with everything we’ve been up to (like their 2 jobs and 3 boys under 5 aren’t keeping them busy enough) they came up here to spend some with us and our good friend Chuck.E.Cheese.

We thought this might be our last trip to Chuckie’s but Ben (and I) have so much fun there that I’m sure we’ll find the time to go at least once more before the end of next week. In saying that, I’m certain we will. We have too many token receipts not to go one more time to pick up a souvenir at least.

We left there not long after 7 so that we could have a little fun back at our place before it was time for them to head off home. After all, we had 5 little boys that needed their beauty sleeps thanks to such a busy evening.
