Spooktacular
Another day in late October, another chance to put on that Pirate costume and Arrrrrrrrrrgh your way to some trick or treats. Either that or dress as Elmo for the first time and try to giggle your way to them.
Today it was off to my favourite place, good old Lambeau Field to enjoy the Spooktacular Fun they had planned for the community. This was a free event where all the locals were welcome to come and join in the festivities.
One of the concourses had been turned into a haunted house styled area for the big kids, Mummies and Daddies. We used our better judgement and decided to stay where everything looked alot less scary and more “little one” friendly.
Did I say Halloween reminds me of Christmas yet ‘cause this occasion was huge. Just like any Christmas celebration at home only it had a little mix of the Easter Show thrown in aswell. There were haunted houses and nativity styled Halloween scenes as soon as we walked in. Ben was treated with a handful of Tootsie Rolls and another bunch of lollipops before we’d even made it 10 feet in the door.
We had a feeling we’d fill in part of the day but it turned out we filled almost all of it in with the different activities and things to do there. It started with a little pumpkin decorating. Both Mr.Pirate (Ben) and Elmo (Luc) had a turn at doing this until Luc decided he’d had enough already.
Whilst he and I roamed around Kelly and Ben were off to decorate picture frames with ghosts, ghouls and of course, the occasional pumpkin.
After lunch, we had a little rest by the centre stage where a comedian was about to play. Figuring this would be just another average guy trying to make a buck I focused my attention on Luc rolling around like a bulldozer. As it turned out, this guy was hilarious.
If there is anyone out there who needs to book for a corporate function (don’t even know if he does them) ring him now. His name is Circus Boy and you can see parts of his show on his website http://www.circusboy.net.
We were lucky enough to see the mouth juggling, uni-cycle and “world’s smallest bike” routine. It truly is the world’s smallest bike by the way. This trick has landed him in both the Guiness Book of World Records and onto the show Ripley’s Believe It or Not. if you check the photo closely you’ll see he’s not just riding it, he is fact poppin’ a mono Doing a wheelie). That was cool.
Not long after the Circus Boy regaling we were off. The boys were ready for an early dinner and a good night’s sleep. Kelly was ready to hit the town with Tezza and their friend Cosmopolitan (never met her, apparently they think she’s great) and I was quite looking forward to some quiet time at home.
(Is there space here to add images of the Super Bowl XXXI newspapers I bought and the tables at Lambeau Field with black and white pics of the good old days, including Brett?)
