Snow Time… Kind Of

Snow glorious snow. It’s here.....well, at least for us anyway. As Kelly and I looked out the window to watch the lightest pieces of snow float softly to the ground and melt as soon as they touched, we looked at each other in amazement. I’m sure the rest of Green Bay went about their day without even noticing these smallest of small droplets of ice but make no mistake, we did. See those little white spots on the leaf? That’s the snow I’m talking about. Not exactly huge but it was coming down all the same.

As a result we went into “winter lockdown” mode. Well, not really. We do however have 1 bedroom that’s alot colder than the rest of the apartment. To fix this I learned about the age old tradition of applying plastic to the window. I could not believe, not even for one minute, that putting plastic on a window would stop mother nature in the mood she seems to be in.

Sure enough, it has worked a treat and our room now seems a regular temperature again. This is a relief ‘cause it was capital C for cold over the last few nights.

Our attire seems to have changed quite markedly since our arrival too. Like I said earlier, the idea that we could be snap frozen in an instant keeps going through my mind. I know it won’t happen but when you’re colder than you’ve ever been at any point in your life you can’t help but think it. Kelly’s flip flops (we call them thongs) have finally been replaced with real shoes, my Packers jacket, which you’re beginning to see already is getting alot of airtime and the boys, well what can you say when you’ve got them wearing ear muff hats like these?

Kelly was lucky enough to get out to Cirque de Soleil at the Resch Centre this evening whilst I watched sleeping boys lie. Acrobatic Gymnasts are certainly more her thing and having not seen them in Sydney any time that they’ve come, now seemed like the perfect opportunity.

With Thanksgiving around the corner, talk of the holiday season increasing and Christmas lights beginning to show up all over town we’re certainly looking forward to the few weeks we have ahead.....
