Playoff Time
So all of a sudden we’re back up to temperatures of 40F (4C) and I must say, as everybody else does here, it’s positively balmy. I never thought I’d say that myself but it’s true. After being as cold as it has been the 40’s really is quite nice. Back home, anything under 10C (50F) and we’d have been freezing our proverbials off.
In between fooling around with the boys today I managed to flick the TV on and off to see the Seattle vs Washington game this afternoon. I may have said it alot earlier in the season but I still have a soft spot for Mike Holmgren. Heck, in this town, how can you not? We drive Holmgren Way at least every day, his image is on the walls of every bar and he is featured heavily at Lambeau Field and in the Packers Hall of Fame.
Do you ever wonder what might have been if he didn’t leave after 5 very successful seasons? I do.
In saying that I was hoping they’d lose today. It’s not that I’m worried about the Seahawks coming to Green Bay next week, I’m not. I did want the Redskins to go to Dallas though. Of tomorrow’s game between New York and Tampa Bay I can’t say that I’m confident either has the ability to knock of the Cowboys. The Bucs aren’t a great team and the Giants, in two attempts this year against Dallas, have lost both by double digits.
I know, my opinion doesn’t count for much and I still believe, strongly at that, that we can beat the Cowboys in the Championship game. For my own selfish reasons though and I’m sure everybody else’s here in Green Bay, I’d rather see the title game here against anybody than there against them.
At least if the Giants win tomorrow, despite their record this year, it’ll be some kind of grudge match next week. My fingers are still crossed for the fairytale finish.
