Where do you start on a day like today? During the week we were contacted by NFL Films. They had heard of our story not long before and wanted to come out to film for the HBO show “Inside the NFL”. I haven’t mentioned it before ‘cause I don’t like to count my chickens before they hatch but now that the day has come I can talk about it plenty.

With the media experience we have had over the last few months, let me tell you, when NFL Films come to town, they really come to town. These guys didn’t just bring the sink with them from New Jersey, they brought the whole darn kitchen. We’re used to a cameraman, reporter and hand held microphone. This crew literally brought 10 times that.....and more. Look down the hallway of attached picture. Talk about the big time.

We really are very fortunate to have an experience like this. To think that only 5 months ago Kelly and I were having dinner at home trying to figure out whether we should actually come here or not. Today, we’re at Lambeau Field with a crew from NFL Films shooting for a nationally televised audience 12 hours before I get to see my 6th straight home game.

The team of guys that spent the weekend with us were Greg, Jay and Dean (pic coming in tomorrow’s entry). While I’m here I want to say thanks to you guys if you’re reading this. We had an absolute ball.

There was alot planned for today. And tomorrow they’ll be with us while we tailgate, enjoy the game and for another interview afterwards.

We started the morning with an interview of Kelly and I. With the set-up and everything else that goes with it this took about 2 hours. Once that was done we headed down to the atrium at Lambeau for a little walk around and then lunch at Curly’s. Lunch had been planned for a few weeks prior with our new friends from St. Louis, Steve, Lyn and their family. We are lucky enough to be spending the week of the Rams game at their home so to meet them beforehand was really nice.

The day as a whole was pretty full on. Lunch in particular. Curly’s was packed as it was but when we arrived, with 7 adults, 4 kids under 3 and Greg, Jay and Dean we almost took the place over. I guess that happens when you head to Lambeau for lunch the day before a game. In saying all of that we had a great time, the food was delicious and we were able to go and play games at the arcade afterwards.

We were lucky enough to be taken on a tour of Lambeau not long after that. I hadn’t been on a tour yet as I was waiting for a friend of mine from Perth to join us here in December. This was fantastic and made for great footage I’m sure. We saw the under belly of the stadium, the locker and weights rooms, the press room and I got to run down the tunnel out into the open air of the stadium. Man I wanted to get out there on the grass but that is the most forbidden thing one could possibly do. That being said I decided against it.

I took advantage of being out there as long as I could. I sat on the benches and even tried my hand at a Lambeau Leap. I made it easier than I thought but alot less graceful than I would have hoped.

The best part of the day was having Kelly and the boys with me.

I know Ben will never remember it but Kelly and I were able to share in the awe that is a professional football team in this country. The day was a great treat. We finished with some ice cream, another play in the amusement centre and home for alot of rest for what is going to be an even bigger day tomorrow.
