Good to be Home
Both Tuesday and Wednesday were fairly low key. It seems like I say that every week but they really are. It’s almost as though the weekend takes so much out of the both of us that doing nothing for the next few days is the only answer.
Kelly had stayed with Tezza and Robbo for the time that I was gone in KC so we spent most of Tuesday morning there. Apart from that, on Tuesday at least, we just hung out, I got to re-intorduce myself to the kids after being away for so long and Kelly and I had the chance to communicate properly for the first time in 4 days.
Wednesday
I have been doing my darndest to keep up with the website the last 2 days with whatever spare time I can find. It’s not easy. There was so much to digest over the weekend that it has become a real labour of love trying to siphon through it all.
Otherwise, it was a day of two firsts for us today. Now, don’t get too excited. When you hear what our “firsts” are you’ll likely roll over laughing. Either that or not believe it ‘cause they both seem oh-so-regular.
1. So we don’t have “Fall” back home in Australia, we have Autumn. Of course they are exactly the same thing but you call it “Fall” here thanks to the leaves “falling” of the trees. Our leaves don’t really fall. Sure it gets a tad colder but not as cold as here by any stretch.
I make such an introduction because for a good part of this morning all we did was play amongst the leaves. This was certainly another one of those “pick the out-of-towners” moments. We ran, kicked and rolled in leaves as though we had never seen them off a tree before. Truth be known we haven’t really and that’s what was so cool about it. All Ben wants to do now when he sees leaves outside is run through them again and again. He thought it was an absolute hoot.
If leaves are this much fun, what are we going to do when the snow does come?
Now I don’t just lay photos out very often but the one time I did was because they truly were worth the 1000 words they are supposed to be. In today’s case with the leaves, that saying rings true again:
2. Keeping up on our idea to try as many of the different eateries we can while we’re here we went off to Hardee’s for lunch. It was alright I guess. They had a great play area for the kids which was good. No doubt that regardless of the culinary experience we will probably head there again just to give the rugrats somewhere warm to play when it’s starts getting “really” cold.
Isn’t black and white just a whole lot cooler than colour?
