We took our tree down today which is always sad. Another Christmas over, another 350 day wait. The kids didn’t seem too fussed though. For Ben it was his chance to play with the decorations finally and not get into trouble. For Luc, the fact that the balls were now on the ground meant there was no need to pull the tree down on top of himself anymore to get them.

We were hoping to go sledding in Appleton after our tree removal ceremony but the weather turned out a little crazy. What seemed like a good idea yesterday was left hanging in mid teen temps and 30MPH winds today. Is this what everybody means when they talk about the unpredictability of Wisconsin weather?

For the most part this week the downtime we have had has been spent online updating the site. I don’t like it to consume our days but with the festivities of the last two weeks we’ve really needed the bye week to catch up. As big a job that it is sometimes it becomes massive when we fall 10 days behind.

Enough of that, now for the fun stuff. Another little AUS vs USA comparison that I’m sure is so normal to you guys but it is completely new to us.

Kelly and I, after the boys go to bed, have started watching alot more TV. I know, I know, how boring you say. But how cool is it that your cable automatically comes with a DVR. We don’t normally watch a whole lot of TV but there are a few things we like to see. Take the Packers shows for instance. Most of them I can’t see because we’re usually doing things with the kids and to be frank, I’d rather do that. Here though, you just DVR whatever you want, even the whole season, every week and just watch it when you’re ready. It’s totally cool that you can do that and even more cool that’s it’s included for nothing. For the same thing back home it costs you $400 upfront.

The other cool thing is free “On Demand”. We only stumbled upon this the other week, I can’t even remember how. The fact that you have completely free TV at your fingertips is incredible. Kids shows, series’, sports, all ready whenever you are. Don’t buy the DVD’s, just watch it for nothing “On Demand”. Kudos to that aswell.

I guess the only issue is that it encourages you to sit on your rear ends and watch more TV. Lucky for us it’s only temporary.
