Eating Out
In our effort to see as many of the eateries as we can while we’re here in Green Bay we made a couple of stops today. They were both unintentional by the way but by the time the night was over we’d been to both IHOP and the Texas Roadhouse.
The boys were kept inside for all of yesterday so we had to get them out of the house. Mind you when we woke up the temperature was 2F (-18C) so of all of the days to go out for breakfast, this probably wasn’t the best. In saying that, we’ve adjusted to the temps wonderfully if I do say so myself and getting to and from the car has become somewhat of a skill.
IHOP (International House of Pancakes for all of the foreigners out there), isn’t the sort of breakfast we would usually have but occasionally we need to remind ourselves that we are still on vacation. Despite the fact that pancakes are terribly filling, when you have them with strawberries and banana they just taste so good.
We fooled around for much of the day once we got home. Kelly and Tari went out for a bit of shopping and some lunch after that and Tari, bless her soul offered to stay a little later to watch the kids if we wanted to head out for an early dinner. If? Ha, we couldn’t have accepted quick enough.
Before taking off we set the boys up for our annual Christmas photo before we take the tree down tomorrow. As most of you with kids would know this isn’t an easy feat but I think we did pretty good out of it in the end.
With that we were off to enjoy a quick steak and a quiet beer alone. We had a really great night as we reminisced the time that we have been here so far. It was funny to laugh about the teenagers we were 10 years ago, the parents we were 2 years ago and the globetrotters we’d become this year. If there’s one thing in life that’s certain, it’s that nothing is ever certain.
