Div. Playoff 1/3 - Pre

Could any one person be any more nervous with the importance of today’s game and the fact there was so much riding on it? Could any one person be any more excited by the fact that the snow was falling before a home playoff game at Lambeau Field? I could ask one hundred questions about this “any one person” ‘cause that’s kind of how he felt this morning.

I wasn’t quite sure if a 330 kick off was a good thing or not as I sat at home this morning trying to figure out what the heck I was going to do with myself for the extra 3 and a half hours. It was like Christmas Day when you’re a kid. You know, at Grandma’s house for lunch having to wait for your presents until after you’d finished everything on your plate. Having Kelly back from Vegas though gave us plenty of catching up to do and watching the boys, Ben especially, fall all over her was just great.

I spoke to a mate of mine, Wink, who owns the Packer Limo (as linked on the home page) and decided to head down to Brett’s Steakhouse to meet up with him and some of his buddies. We had a beer, a bite to eat and chatted about how someone from Australia has the guts to come over here and do what we’re doing. I was lucky enough to meet Brett’s brother Jeff as he walked by the Limo where Wink and i were talking. I thought that was pretty cool. That’s the three of us pictured there in front of the car.

After an hour or so, my friend Nancy arrived and we were off to tailgate a little before heading inside to see the game.

On the way we meet up with Lou from Fox11 News and did an interview about our feelings on being here at Lambeau for a playoff game. Excited, nervous, ecstatic and sick in the stomach all came to mind very quickly. I’ll put it into words during the game post when I walk into the stadium for the first time ‘cause I couldn’t believe it this morning and to be honest, I still can’t believe it now.

After that we went over to the “Packer House” owned by Atlanta Businessman Mike Holton. As I have said in the video of today’s game, if you live in Green Bay you’ll know who and what house I am talking about. For those that don’t, you can read about it here. This house is absolutely incredible, a real “ode to the history” of the Green bay Packers.

From the carpet to the memorabilia to the “Packers Fans Only” parking sign above the toilet, this is every fans dream home right here. The roof top party deck, the massive “G” on the back patio and the view from the lounge room window also went a long way to reminding you where you are and why you’re here.

With the day quickly getting away from us we headed over to the stadium to take our place in the massive queue that had already formed outside of the gate. The day was getting a little cooler but the snow was beginning to fall a little harder. The thought of sitting in that stadium during a snow storm would be awesome, regardless of how cold it was going to get.
