Well Needed Rest
We met Dave, the Regency Suites head-chef yesterday. He, as with most enquired as to our accent and reason for being here. We replied as usual with our story and the 3 of us, Dave, Kelly and I that is, hit it off almost immediately. Stories were traded, explanations given and offers of help were made.
What was unbelievable though was a gift that he passed on despite my refusal any number of times to accept. A football, signed by one of the Packers last year that, outside of spending big to get, I would never have considered laying my hands on. I’ve said it before but it’s people like this, gift or not, that really make this town as welcoming as it is.
We laid low for most of the day otherwise, looked at some long-term accommodation options and watched the hotel go from completely empty to not quite completely empty. You could see signs of the Packers game approaching as number 4’s started through the doors and Eagles (Philadelphia) caps started appearing.
We had more than one swim in the hotels indoor, heated pool and kids waterpark before hitting “The Pub” (real name) for Budweiser, Ribs and Fries. I must say at this point, I was happy not be eating a burger for the 4th day in a row.
