Pee Wee!
As you now know I finally pulled my finger out and organised a car yesterday so that we could stop being such a burden on all of those so happy to help us. This worked out great today as Kelly was taking her weekly trip away from the craziness that has become our day to day lives again.
First things first though. We’ve seen the Packers play, I’ve watched the Badgers on TV and I experienced a “homecoming” High School game last night. What football odyssey would be complete though, without seeing a little “Wolverine” and “Pop Warner” before we headed back?
OK, so it didn’t quite work out that way. The morning started great. We met Dave, a friend who’s boys it was we were watching, here at the hotel. He was somewhat displeased with my “Ashwaubenon Jags” t-shirt but I told him it was my attempt to show support for junior football in the area. That didn’t really appease him so I promised never to wear it to a non-Ashwaubenon game again. He suggested I just stop going to their games altogether. I don’t know about that..... ajldhv adjhv advh duh ov dquvg ov quv vg dvgj wuygv igv eqkgv iqegv ieqgv equgv iqugv qg dqukv dqugv qdgv qieugv qidugv qiudgv qdiugv qiugv qidugv iqugv iqeugv eiqugv ique
Anyway, the first game was at St Phillip park. It was like a little field of dreams. The football field with beautifully manicured grass, a seperate warm-up area and a great swing set (thank goodness) even had its own electronic scoreboard. I mean 10 year olds couldn’t be expected to rely on adults keeping the score now could they?
I say thank goodness for the swings as Ben was bored after about 30 seconds flat. Now I know why taking him to a Packers game isn’t such a great idea. We all went and played, I managed to watch a little football in between and we finished the morning with beer soaked Brats, which I am beginning to pronounce brahts the true Wisconsin way. At that we headed home well short of the first game finishing let alone seeing any of the Pop Warner.
With Kelly off on her big day out I faced the prospect of 6 daylight hours at home with munchkins 1 and 2. This was made a little easier with a brand new set of wheels sitting down in the car park. We had a rest, Luc had a sleep and it was off to do what boys should do. I, the big one, went Packers shopping and they, the little one’s, were treated to an afternoon at Toy’s ‘R’ Us.
