Mani, Pedi, Mr Mom

Like last Friday, Kelly was again able to free herself from the clutches of her 3 dependant little boys. Yes I include myself in that summary as one, if not themost dependant of all. This time it was for some much needed pampering and I for one, biased or not, think that if anyone deserves a break, it is her. That left me in charge of the boys and what do dads do best when looking after 2 kids under 3? That’s right, watch TV all day. No that’s not true. For some time we have been told of 3 things to do whilst here in Green Bay. One was Bay Beach which Kelly did whilst I was watching the Packers annihilate the Chargers. (Is annihilate too strong a word?) Two was to get to the YMCA which we both did Wednesday just gone and three was to check out the Brown County Library for their large selection of books, toys and children’s DVD’s. This we did today.

Have you ever tried to walk with a 10 month old in a stroller and an almost 3 year old tagging along behind? If not try to avoid it. Not that it isn’t cute, it is. It’s just that it’ll take you forever and we were lucky if we had to go any further than 300 yards to get there. In the end we did so with Luc, as mentioned, in the stroller and Ben on Daddy’s shoulders which poses a second question. Have you ever tried to push a stroller with an almost three year old on your shoulders hanging onto your hair for dear life? Try your best to avoid that one aswell.

We had a fun hour or so at the library playing with toys, turning computers (that we shouldn’t have been touching) on and off, flicking switches on the photocopier and pressing the elevator buttons at every opportunity. Fearing we’d be shown the door I reluctantly approached the counter to request a card and like the Wisconsin we have grown to love, we were greeted with a happy smile and the card was on it’s way. Add text here about Kelly’s lunch. kjf kqf qefh eqkjfh eqkjfheq kjfheq kjfheq kfjeqhf kjeqhf eqkjfh.

After lunch and a quick nap it was off to our mate Chuck E. Cheese’s for some salad bar and a play before bedtime. Mental note, going on a Thursday in the middle of the day whilst school is in is a much better idea than going on a Friday afternoon at 5pm. What was fun and exciting last week, in a near empty restaurant, was absolute, single parenting chaos. 6 million people were there, Ben wanted to steal coins, tickets and food from everybody his general size and Luc was fed up with having to sit through all of this in the now infamous stroller.

We made it home in one piece courtesy of an ice-cream sandwich bribe and managed to retire the night quite early. Just in time for a manicured, pedicured and all other types of treatments that finish in the word “cured”, Mummy to return looking as relaxed, refreshed and rejuvenated as ever.
