Kelly’s 30th Birthday

(Continuation of the Lambeau Lights entry)

I had planned on having a few friends over to Rob and Tari’s last night for what was supposed to be a quiet dinner. By the time we saw the lights at Lambeau, tried everything else there at least once and packed the boys into the car my plan had worked a treat. Having the lights to take all attention away from a potential party was very lucky indeed.

Our guests had arrived well before we did and Kelly, after having no idea the entire time, was pleasantly surprised.

The party started without us as we sorted our sleeping boys out. Once done though we could all relax and have good time. We did feel a little bad ‘cause Ben does love a good party but it was nice that he was aslepp after such a big evening already.

Thanks to my not being able to take care of everything myself (as I had hoped) everybody chipped in to pull it all together. The food, chips, dips, balloons and cake were all brought by different people and it made for a really warm evening. Thank you again Tari and Rob for opening your doors to us and decorating your home the way you did. It looked spectacular, like nothing I could have imagined.

Thankyou also to Kathy, Katie, Nancy, Ken, Mike, Patty and Olivia. We had a wonderful night.

As with all parties we had a cake and sang Happy Birthday. This time though, after our experience with Luc’s birthday, everybody joined us in “hip, hip hooraying” 3 times after the song was complete. It made us feel like we were at home again. With a few presents and a whole lot of pleasant conversations, we managed to laugh the night away. It was great fun.

This morning Kelly enjoyed somewhat of a sleep in (both boys were awake by 6) and breakfast in bed (laying down on the lounge). She got to unwrap her presents, enjoy a cup of coffee and get a little bit of quiet time before it all started again.

Happy Birthday to the most fantastic, wonderful, beautiful woman in the world.
