Halloween, for real!

Halloween is finally here. We were a little unsure as to how we should deal with this. I mean, do you walk the streets wishing everyone a happy Halloween like you would at Christmas? We just followed the lead of everybody else and it seemed whilst excited for the evening to come, no-one was out there singing “Deck the halls with bows of skeletons”.....so we didn’t either.

Ben especially has been looking forward to his first Halloween. For at least 2 weeks he has wanted to carve pumpkins and go trick or treating. That and getting the chance to dress up as a pirate again of course. We started the afternoon with scary cake and biscuit (cookie) decorating. After the sugar hit this provided I wondered whether trick or treating was in fact necessary at all.

Having said that, we were off begging the neighbours for lollies (candy) at around 5:30 and I’ve got to say it was an absolute blast. There were so many kids around with pumpkin baskets and scary costumes that it was just like we had seen on TV. We found it funny in fact. Thinking that the “trick or treat” part of the celebration was more reserved for the little ones there were a number of big ones around and their loots bags were pillow cases as opposed to the more modest plastic pumpkin. Either way everybody seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Ben was the most gorgeous I think we have ever seen him. After being a little apprehensive to approach a stranger’s door he was more than happy to do so once he realised there were treats for the taking. By the 3rd house he was up there, ringing the door bells on his own saying “um hello - chick a cheat”. What’s more, his thankyou’s afterwards were priceless.

Luc was just as gorgeous as Ben in his little Elmo costume. So much so he was mistaken for Ben’s little sister more than his little brother the entire night. It got a little cold though and Luc, despite being dressed from head to toe, both under and over, wasn’t too happy with the Wisconsin wind in his face. Plus, I’m sure the fact that he was in the pram whilst Ben was off getting free stuff from people all night didn’t help either. lakh obj bljfnbl web wbjf bvf ibhfe buohfw bovwuh buwfkbh fohb fowhb febh iefub efiub feiub efiubh feibglefsisb libf dukbg efdbel ifgb feiybg efsilb dsfibg dfigb efigb iefgb efigb ieflgb fgb ifdgb efbgfbgifgb e.

We retired not long after that so that we could head back and watch Ben empty his pumpkin like it was a Christmas stocking. He had the absolute time of his life tonight. Cruising the streets with a smile from here to there, he laughed and giggled and just thought this was the best thing ever.

After such a big day the boys were in bed quite early. That left us to carve pumpkins, eat a delicious, specially prepared Halloween dinner, listen to spooky music and just goof around for a little while. It was a great night. One that we will easily remember forever. hjkwjhg wag wigwkgiuwhg owhg owhg wig w8g vw7g wilgv wav wg wig wig wav wig wig wig wig wig wig wg wg will ilwg I;wqug iwlug ilwg ilwg iwug iluwg ilwg ilwug iuwg iuwg iulwgh ilwug wirug wirug wriug rwiug wriugiruwg iruwg uirwgiurwg iurwg iurwg iuwrg iuwr giurw giurwg iurwgh uirwg iurwg iurwhg urwg iurwg iuwgiuwrg iurwg uirwg uirwg iurwgiurwg uirwgiu rwg uirwg uirw guirwhguirw guirwh guirwg uirwhg iurwh guirwh guirwhg urw. hjkwjhg wag wigwkgiuwhg owhg owhg wig w8g vw7g.
