Ben’s 3rd Birthday

Today was Ben’s 3rd birthday and boy has he been looking forward to it. For at least the last month he has been telling people that his birthday is coming soon. I think with Luc and Kelly having their birthdays in the weeks prior he has this constant reminder of his being just around the corner.

The funny thing about this morning though is that despite it being his birthday, despite the fact he has been looking forward to it for so long and despite the fact that there were presents waiting for him on the table he refused to do anything until he’d eaten his breakfast. Not bad huh? He has developed a real fascination for Cheerios since being here so I guess we can’t complain.

After brekky he did as all 3 year old’s do on their birthday. Open one present, become completely wrapped in it and forget that there were plenty more where that came from.

From a toy and game filled morning came the birthday trip to Chuck. E Cheese. If there is one thing that we could take home with us that would make him the happiest little boy in the world, Chuckies would be it. You should have seen his smile when we told him where we were going. It was priceless. It also started the very familiar “when are we going” cries but he was excited, what can you expect?

It was then time for the customary cake, singing of Happy Birthday and getting he and his tired little eyes into bed before he fell asleep right there at the table. We’re having a big party on the weekend to celebrate. If he had fun today he should have a ball then.
